Analysis & Design
Structural analysis and design of temporary and permanent interventions to ensure the safety and integrity of historical structures — from vaulted aqueducts to fortified walls.
Engineering & Conservation for Historic Architecture
Structural assessment, conservation design, and implementation for historic constructions.
Conservation is not the arrest of time — it is the responsible stewardship of its evidence.
About
Built Heritage Conservation Specialist
Structural Civil Engineer
A built heritage specialist with deep experience in the conservation and rehabilitation of historic structures, 3D digital documentation, and structural assessment of monuments and archaeological sites across the Levant.
Driven by a passion for learning and delivering positive impacts, skilled in fostering teamwork and collaboration, and committed to innovative, solution-oriented approaches that honor both the authenticity and integrity of historic fabric.
What We Do
Structural analysis and design of temporary and permanent interventions to ensure the safety and integrity of historical structures — from vaulted aqueducts to fortified walls.
Comprehensive documentation of built heritage through laser scanning technologies and photogrammetric techniques — creating precise digital records for research and conservation.
Expert management and planning of engineering projects in construction and built heritage preservation — coordinating teams, schedules, and conservation methodologies on-site.
Systematic assessment and documentation of historic structures — recording pathologies, diagnosing causes of deterioration, and prescribing evidence-based intervention strategies for conservation planning and grant applications.
Selected Work
Acre to Caesarea — 2023–2025
Comprehensive structural analysis and temporary support systems design for a continuous series of vaulted arches extending approximately 13 kilometres — addressing cracks, deformations, and instabilities while preserving historical integrity.
Naqab Desert — 2023–2025
Foundation consolidation and reconstruction of collapsed walls and towers using lime-based mortars and structural reinforcement techniques.
Ramla — 2023–2025
Structural safety assessment of an Umayyad-period underground water well; condition inspection and compliance evaluation for visitor access.
Asqalan, Naqab Desert — 2023–2025
Structural reinforcement of cylindrical stone wells (20–30 m deep) with vaulted access structures.
Safad — 2023–2025
Restoration of cave entrance arch and dry stone wall terraces; general site rehabilitation.
Battir — 2020–2021
Maintenance of dry stone walls and irrigation channels, plus 3D digital mapping using photogrammetry and laser scanning.
Acre — 2018–2019
Management of consolidation and conservation works including structural strengthening of domes, removal of modern insulation layers, and reapplication using compatible traditional materials in accordance with conservation best practices.

The Name & The Mission
Founded in Jerusalem, Qantara Engineering was established on the conviction that the built heritage of the Levant is not merely a collection of old stones — it is living testimony. Every lime-mortared vault, every carved keystone, every eroded terrace wall carries irreplaceable cultural knowledge.
Our work sits at the intersection of structural engineering precision and conservation ethics: intervening with care, documenting with accuracy, and always asking what the structure itself is trying to tell us.
